The 2014 blockbuster Whistle Blower is inspired by the real-life scandal of Hwang Woo Suk, a once leading figure in the field of stem cell research who was exposed in 2005 of fabricating his findings on human stem cell cloning. Directed by Lim Soon Rye (Forever the Moment), the tense investigative thriller recounts the shocking story from the perspective of a researcher and a news producer �?played by rising star Yoo Yeon Seok (Answer Me 1994) and award-winning actor Park Hae Il (A Muse) �?who dared to blow the whistle in a contentious world in which both truth and deception come at heavy prices.

After announcing that he has successfully cloned human embryo stem cells, Lee Jang Hwan (Lee Kyung Young, Kundo: Age of the Rampant) becomes the toast of the town, celebrated by the media, scientific community and general public for his pioneering work. Then one day, news program producer Yoon Min Cheol (Park Hae Il) receives an anonymous tip about Lee Jang Hwan's unethical practices. The source is researcher Shim Min Ho (Yoo Yeon Seok), who had previously worked with Lee. Teaming up tentatively, Yoon and Shim face the uphill battle of uncovering an unpopular truth to the world.
